On behalf of HIFA I would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to all our WHO colleagues and HIFA members who are attending the 79th World Health Assembly this week, starting tomorrow 18 May. I would especially like to thank Dr Meena Nathan Cherian for officially representing HIFA at the event. Meena is a HIFA Steering Group member and retired WHO staff member. The Steering Group has prepared a short statement that Meena will read aloud during the proceedings in relation to agenda item 12.7: Universal health coverage. We shall share the statement with you as soon as we can.
