Healthcare Information for All (HIFA) is a dynamic global movement with a vision to end avoidable deaths and suffering due to lack of access to reliable healthcare information.

Established in 2006 HIFA is now a vibrant and growing community with over 20,000 members worldwide in over 180 countries, communicating across 6 forums and in 4 languages. Members are drawn from a broad range of stakeholders: healthcare providers, policymakers, publishers, librarians, and educators, and many more, all committed to a common goal.

Fundraising Working Group

The Fundraising Working Group (FRWG) is a group of HIFA volunteers with the task of raising income for HIFA activities through personal donations and local fundraising. The group also coordinates fundraising aspects of website messaging, fundraising platform (iRaiser), and social media support.

The FRWG complements the work of the Partnerships and Projects Working Group (PPWG).

Mental health: meeting information needs for substance use disorders

Problem

Substance use disorders carry a large burden of disease worldwide across low-, middle- and high-income countries.

Lack of availability and use of relevant, reliable healthcare information is a major contributing factor to suffering and death related to substance use disorders. This applies to all stakeholder groups, including the general public, health workers and policymakers. As a result, many people with substance use disorders do not have access to effective means of prevention and treatment.
