Coronavirus (1419) Differences in pregnancy and perinatal outcomes among symptomatic versus asymptomatic COVID-19-infected pregnant women: a systematic review and meta-analysis (2)
This is a very interesting finding. I am wondering what additional factor was responsible for increasing the risk for black pregnant women in the conclusion. Since the start of the COVID pandemic, Africa recorded the least infections, hospitalization requiring mechanical ventilation, and even death. is there a chance that black pregnant women lack access to quality pre and antenatal care due to lack of health insurance? is there a link between poverty and pregnancy outcomes? I advise further investigation for a better conclusion Thank you Dr. Modupe Taiwo

Coronavirus (1409) False belief in ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine
(with thanks to Global Health Now) False belief in ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine is not only a danger to the person who holds that belief, but has the potential to trigger violence against others when the belief is not satisfied... 'COVID-19 hospital patients and others in Montana and Idaho (USA) have threatened violence after being refused ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine; in areas with low vaccination rates, people are pressuring health workers for prescriptions for the drugs, which are considered ineffective against the coronavirus'

Coronavirus (1411) Vaccine hesitancy, politics and false beliefs in US (2)
Thanks for sharing the link, Neil ( https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/12/05/1059828993/data-vac... ). COVID-19 death rates of Trump voters are three times those of Biden voters. With 91% of Democrats vaccinated, and only 59% of Republicans vaccinated, this trend is likely to continue. Is there a risk that Trump support might actually die out? Chris
